154 days and feeling really good.  :)   Here are the pics Tina took the day after I started T  6/17/09:

Here’s me on 11/7/09:

 ———-

I am so happy to announce that my top surgery has been scheduled for 2/23 with Dr. Charles Garramone in Sunrise Florida.

Worth noting is that it’s happening 3 days before the 3 year anniversary of my first chest surgery.  (The first link is Tina’s experience while I was in surgery, I just read it and I’m sitting here thinking about how much Tina used to call me she and realizing just how tough it had to have been for her and everyone else to change pronouns.  I love you baby.)

We still don’t have all of the money that we’ll need to cover it that’s why the date is pretty far out.  We’re still saving money like crazy and have a pretty aggressive plan to save more between now and Feb. we’re still about $2000. short but I know we’ll find it somehow. :)

I’m so completely grateful to have such an amazing group of friends in real life and online who have helped me get here.  When I first began my transition I expected that top surgery would happen in 5 years at the rate that I am able to save. I am so humbled by the generosity of people I have never met in person, and by the way that those who I do know have come through as well. Sincerely guys, I love you.

Originally I was planning to see a Dr.Beverly Fischer in MD who did really great work but charged more.  Dr. Garramone does excellent work and I’m looking forward to him doing my surgery.  His prices are much lower, though with travel it ends up costing about the same as it would have if I had chosen the other Dr. The big plus to going to FL is that it’s right outside of Ft. Lauderdale and I can recover from surgery poolside.  :P

Also, my gender marker on my license was updated with an “M”.  YAY!

I’m almost done changing my name on things.  My new bank cards, credit cards, insurance cards have come in with my new name.

Doh!  Just remembered about auto insurance.  What’s one more really?  I’m pretty used to this by now.

 ———-

Friday is the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance and this week is Transgender Awareness Week.  Please join me this week in some way shape or form in educating someone about Trans people.  Use me as an example if you want.  There are Remembrance ceremonies and vigils scheduled all over the world this week in honor of all TG people who have lost their lives for simply being themselves.  The TDOR site link above has a pretty thorough listing of all TGOR events.

We’ll be having one at the center Friday night and I’d love your company.

    Lookin’ good babe. :)

It kills me how different you look. I just re-read my post too. All the she’s and her’s… they must felt like minor stabbings.

They did to me and I said them.

And I can’t BELIEVE I said a word I said in there. I just edited that entry.

Anyway — I love you. It’s all good. As are our friends. :)
