I’m halfway there! THANK YOU!!!

It was a great weekend!  The weather really impacted attendance, but the party was a blast!  I'm so glad that so many friends were able to come out and support the cause.  Blog contributions, and party donations bring us to just over $3800.  My surgery costs $7300. if I go to MD and $5700. if I go to FL.  FL would require a longer hotel stay (so I can recover a bit and be close to the Dr in case of any issues) and airfare so they balance out to be about the same.  As it stands I'm leaning more toward MD only because it's closer.  Both Drs have great reviews.

So I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen in any way. The queer blogging community definitely came through full force and I so appreciate all of your love and support.  This couldn't have happened without your help.  THANK YOU!  I'm so glad that some of you were actually able to attend the party here in CT!!

I also need to shout out my local friends who donated lots of time, cash and ideas to making this happen.  You all know who you are and I love you guys! For real.

Now for the highlights of the party:

  • We (me, Tina, Mr. Sexsmith & the infamous Kristen, Jesse James, Freedomgirl & Leo MacCool, and our friend Jen who came to town and was also staying with us), had a Pizza dinner at Pepe's before the party.  The white clam pizza is awesome there btw, as is pretty much all of the other pizza.
  • MacCool and I rushed out of there to head to the center to set up for the night and the rest of the gang headed back to our house with Tina to get ready.  We managed to get the entire place set up in approx an hour with the help of our friends DJ Alex, Katie and Amanda, Lisa and Darcy and Chris.
  • My soggy shirt (LOL)
  • Tina looking SO HOTT!
  • Lisa's Jello Shots Rum ones and Vodka ones, Red, blue, green, purple, yellow and orange ones.  I think I had about 30 myself.
  • KT's tanktop
  • Ace's meatballs
  • Vampire tears
  • Boobies everywhere
  • Lady Gaga
  • Friends everywhere – seriously I was so touched that so many came out in the rain to party with us.
  • Donations!
  • 8 hrs of my time was auctioned off and sold to Ashley for $130.

Enjoy the pics!

Let me know if you do another fundraiser….or if you do one online, or whatever! I’d be happy to hook up a rainbow afghan, some hat and scarf sets….or even some “toy holders” to help out!

Wish I could do more….I am pulling for you!
