And now we wait.

Sure has been a minute, hasn’t it?  I have so much to say!  Let’s start with the good stuff first, shall we?

I filled out the paperwork for my legal name change and on my birthday last week, had it notarized by my good friend, who’s also a trans man, and a lawyer.  I love that it happened on my birthday, and that he was able to do it for me (thanks, man).  I had to send a copy of my birth certificate, a copy of my drivers license and proof of address.  I only had the tiny, wallet sized copy of my birth certificate, hopefully that’s good enough.  As for proof of address, I don’t have any home utilities in my name, so I sent my T-Mobile bill. LOL. Hope THAT’s ok too.  Now, I wait for a response with a date that I have to go before the judge.  Hopefully it happens soon with no bumps.  Wish me luck!

I’m not even going to blog about the financial crisis we had last week. It’s just too much to type, but if you are interested, you can read that at Tina’s blog. Thanks for documenting that, babe.

I’m looking forward to seeing my mom and Grandpa this weekend.  It’s been a long time and I miss them a lot.  I hope my changes don’t freak mom out.

I found out that our nephew Lil’ Eric has a staff infection in his leg.  My sister has no idea where it came from and apparently it’s really swollen.  Apparently he’s also allergic to penicillin. He’s on something else to help heal the infection. I’m worried about him. Poor kid has been hit with a few weird illnesses this year, including ringworm that he caught from someone in school.  After a couple months of battling it with prescriptions and topical OTC stuff, it finally went away and then just recently returned so he is dealing with that too. His dad, my bro-in-law, has an ear infection!  My poor sister is feeling defeated, I can tell.  She’s strong though so she’ll be ok. She just got hired to work as a companion to the elderly. She’ll be helping people with their errands, meals, etc.  I think she’ll be great at it.  It’s got to be overwhelming for her to go to work after being a full-time homemaker for so long.  I’m proud of her.  Get better Eric(s)!

Speaking of sickness, sometime over the weekend I started to come down with something nasty.  I thought it was allergies or a cold at first but by Sunday evening I knew it was something bad.  Asthmatic bronchitis had me in bed until yesterday, missing 3 days of work and eating mostly liquids and soups. I know there was something more to it because I was also having stomach issues, chills and aches.  My flu test came back negative, I was relieved because they way I was feeling I thought it was swine flu. Doc prescribed me 5 meds. The antibiotic I was given made me throw up, so I called for a new prescription and haven’t gotten it yet.  I’m stopping on the way home to pick it up.

On Sunday I also got a text from a co-worker telling me that one of my direct reports, a man that I work very closely with each day, had suffered a heart attack and was in a coma.  He’s only around 40 years old, and is in really great physical shape.  Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers.  I know he’d appreciate it.

I’m back at work today and have a shit load of work to do so I’m going to stop here. Lata!

I’m sorry that you’ve been so sick! How awful! I’m hoping that your nephew and BIL get better real soon – there’s little worse than seeing a child suffer. It breaks my heart and I feel for your sister, who btw is doing something so wonderful with her new job.

Congrats on moving forward with the name change! Woo Hoo to you!

WOW! I guess they told you the cigs don’t help with the asthma part of all that. lol Hope you feel better!! Sorry this is late. We went on our mini vacation and just got back. Before we left….I ran a virus scan. Lori in a hurry to do a hotel check in on line, started it while the scan was still running. I didn’t realize she was doing that. Now today I find out that it detected the MSN program as a threat and removed it!! Along with links all leading to……Lori. So I am working with half a program here. ::sigh::: I want my own computer…….
