The Good Life.

Today Joe.My.God. asked “What is going right in your life?” – Only the good stuff!

Tina answered this question on her blog and I thought I’d do the same (since I just love Meme type posts)

  1. My relationship – every day I see more and more my wife’s deep love for me, her loyalty and her commitment to making our marriage work.   All of these things make me feel so secure in what we have.  I couldn’t have asked for a better or more beautiful wife, lover and friend. Oh, and she rocks my socks in the sack.   Heh.
  2. The kids -  I may not have created them or witnessed their early years, but the bond I feel with them is as if I have always been there.  I love them with every bit of me and there is really nothing I wouldn’t do to keep them safe, healthy and happy.  I know they love me too, my kids.
  3. Family – I’m fortunate to have a tight knit family who loves and supports me, my wife and my kids.  I’m happy to have had the best Grandmother in the entire world and to have learned so much from her.
  4. Real Life Friends – I have some awesome friends.  Friends that I seriously feel like I’ve known my entire life, who really give a shit about me and how I am doing and have my back.  **Some of my real life friends were once online friends and I am so thankful that “the internets” have brought them into my life.
  5. Internet Friends – There are so many out there in cyberspace who mean very much to me who I have never met in person or talked to on the phone.  I consider them to be true friends.  They’ve come through with heartfelt generosity to help me reach my fund raising goal and always offer such encouragement when I post about my feelings.  I am very fortunate to have “met” them.  I’m convinced that the internet is the best way to make friends.
  6. Pets – Mickey, Louie, Tink and Willow!  I love all of them.  They are part of the family and quite entertaining.
  7. Work - In this economy, I am fortunate to have a job.  I am also fortunate to work in a place that for the most part accepts/supports my queerness.
  8. Community – The LGBT community in CT is definitely growing.  I have never felt as much a part of the queer community until this year.  I have LGBT friends from all different races, religions, ages, genders, financial statuses.  It’s really incredible how having one thing in common can bring together such a diverse group of people.  I am also super excited that the transmasculine society is coming together so nicely and that I can volunteer my time with such a worthy organization as TCC.
  9. My health – I am healthy for the most part.  The weight is coming off and I am going to focus on quitting smoking for good in the near future.

Your turn!

I love happy posts like this – it makes me all mushy. Very, very sweet and well thought out. The section on your children was particularly touching. What a beautiful life you and Tina have made. Much love, buddy.

Hey Mel – We have kinda been stuck on a Disney theme with the pets’ names.

Mickey is our 12 year old flat-coated retriever.

Louie is a 3 yr old Green-cheek Conure (parrot)

Tink is a 1.5 yr old Peach-fronted Conure (parrot)

Willow is a 1.5 yr old Weimaraner :)

    Life is good :)

Such a cool meme. I’ve been really overwhelmed and stressed with life in the past couple of weeks, but reading this helped my view of the big picture.
